Solana Memecoin WATER Jumps 23% As Lionel Messi Boosts Awareness On Instagram.

Lionel Messi, the global soccer legend, has hopped on the meme bandwagon and is using his Instagram Stories to promote a Solana-based meme coin called Watercoin (WATER).
Watercoinโ€™s documentation claims that it focuses on water-related problems for the future in order to be an ecologically sustainable coin.

Over 20% of Solanaย WATER memecoin has skyrocketed. Through his Instagram account, Lionel Messi gave the token a significant boost. Indeed, this is one of several meme currencies that have received support from celebrities in recent times.

Is Messi Promoting the Solana WATER Memecoin?

Yesterday, a post on Messiโ€™s Instagram story looked like he was promoting theย Solanaย WATER memecoin. There was also a picture of Messi with the Waters logo peeping over his shoulders. An IG account, believed to be associated with this meme coin, also shared the same story. Given how famous and influential Messi is as an athlete, such a post could mean more than words can say to people in general.

According to his Instagram page, he has about 504 million followers making him the second most followed person on the app after Cristiano Ronaldo. Therefore, with such a large following base WATER must have had its price increase by more than 55% as it wasnโ€™t long ago when this happened too.

As of the time of writing this, the meme coin has lost more than half of these profits but is still heading upwards. WATER has a present-day trade value of $0.001029 and an increase in value of 21.12% for 24 hours.

WATER: A Meme Coin with Little Substance

The Mudcoin post did not receive any official response from either Messi or his management team. Nevertheless, it reminds me of another meme coin that allegedly had affiliations with famous wrestler Hulk Hogan. Last month, various social media platforms saw several posts promoting Hogan memecoin.

However, the wrestler insisted he had no involvement with the digital asset denoted by them and they pulled them down. The token subsequently experienced a market capitalization decrease of over 15 million dollars.

Mudcoin Now Available on Cryptocurrency Exchanges

There is little else to know about this memecoin except that it appears to have a link attached to its website leading to a page stating that the creators of Solana’s BEER memecoin were involved in creating it. On record, this was among some other meme coins that faced serious ups and downs last month.

According to Memecoinโ€™s website, they have added additional information on where to buy and sell this token, such as ‘Water’ or some other catchy phrase. This includes Bitget, BitMart and MEXC. While waiting for a post to talk from Messi and the team, crypto enthusiasts need to be cautious. They should look at various projects thoroughly before investing their money there because scams are rampant.
